There are many good things about living by the academic calendar, one of our favorites being the flexible schedule. Today we took full advantage of this perk and the lovely weather by meeting some friends (also on the schedule) at Lake Michigan. We often go downtown/to the Lake, but today our friends introduced us to a new and fabulous beach on the southside of Milwaukee. What makes it so fabulous (especially on a weekday) is that it is quiet, secluded, and you can walk for miles...literally to Chicago. To one side is a scenic view of downtown and to the other, nothing but beach, trees, and Lake. If that and Mary Clare's adorable face are not enough incentive to visit, I don't know what is!
